An exceptional practitioner is required
to teach Mathematics to pupils aged 11 - 16 years. We currently
offer the OCR GCSE exam.
The teacher appointed will be required

and the accompanying assessment procedures (SATs), and have
recent and relevant experience in the teaching of GCSE Mathematics.
ICT skills related to Mathematics would be an advantage. The
ability to act independently and take sole responsibility
for this subject area is essential, as you will be the only
Mathematics teacher in the secondary sector.
Timetable allocations - in each year group
students currently have 3 hours of Mathematics a week.
A number of our students require additional
support to help improve their numeracy levels and you will
be responsible for identifying and planning the programmes
to help achieve this.
In addition all secondary school staff
either teach a second subject or provide support for students
in other lessons. Ability to offer Business Studies, PE, PSHCE
would be a particular advantage. As we can be flexible please
indicate clearly additional second subjects you are confident
to teach.
We also offer evening classes to the community.
The subjects offered are as a result of demand from the community
and all staff are expected to contribute to the programme
when there is the requirement to do so. Staff are paid overtime
at an hourly rate of £15 for these.
In your application you should clearly
state your philosophy of education and also specify and curriculum
strengths you could offer to the school. We look forward to
hearing from you in the near future.
