The Commercial Services
of AIG is managed by Lawson Henry, Commercial Manager. Lawson
is also the Port Manager and Port Facility Security Officer
for the purposes of International Ships and Ports Security
Code.
His office is located to the right hand side of the Pierhead
Gate
The department consists of three sections as detailed below:

Shipping Office
This office has two staff, namely Kitty George
as Executive Officer and Elaine Arms as assistant. The Shipping
Office provides: -
Agency service to all visiting ships
Passenger/cargo bookings
Arrange Ship crew transfers
On Island support to sick crewmen
Registration of All Visiting yachts
Marine Section
Manned by seven staff under a Foreman who
is Stuart Harris the section provides the following services:

Cargo deliveries across land
Container handling and packing
Maintenance of marine craft including mechanics
Preventative maintenance and replacing of moorings
Passenger Ferry Services
Crane and forklift services
Sight seeing trips to Boatswain Island
Support to inshore rescue service
Motor Transport Section
Manned by six staff: four mechanics
and a clerk under Foreman Ian Oliver this section provides
the following services: -
Vehicle servicing and repairs of a wide range of machinery
and equipment
MOT Inspections
Vehicle Inspectors for road traffic accidents
Wheel alignment adjustments
Welding
Minor body repairs to vehicles
Breakdown recovery service
Diagnostic Testing
Sale of vehicle parts
Many other vehicle type services including fixed price services
for a range of vehicle maintenance including but not limited
to the following:
Tyre changing
Tyre balancing
Exhaust fitting/ repairs
Fuel/Oil filter changes
