The Administrator of Ascension Island is Mr Ross Denny,
a career member of HM Diplomatic Service.
Mr Denny took up his appointment on Ascension in September
2008 following a three year tour of duty in the Foreign
& Commonwealth Office in London.
His previous postings include Santiago, Doha, Warsaw, The
Hague, Sao Paulo and Luanda.
Mr and Mrs Denny are joined by their daughter, Amanda Rebecca,
and during school holidays by their son, Jose Victor.

The Administrator is appointed by the Governor of St Helena
and is his representative on Ascension Island as well as
the representative of the British Government.
The Administrator over-sees the day to day running of the
Ascension Island Government.
The Administrator also has the following duties:
Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages
Immigration Officer
Receiver of Wrecks
Harbour Master.
The Administrator chairs the elected Island Council on
behalf of the Governor and has direct administrative responsibility
for the School, Medical Services, Police, Post Office and
the Government Accounts.
